Week 13 Preview

Hiya folks! Well, we are coming down to the wire.  Only a couple of weeks left in the regular season and we're in crunch time! The most important games are now, unless you're one of those FCS-scheduling teams. Then you have a bye week.

Here's what our Top 25 are doing this weekend. Which games are on your "must see" list?

Top 25

FCS Charleston Southern @ #1 Georgia - Really? FCS this late in the season?

#73 Georgia Tech @ #2 Notre Dame - Say what you will about the Irish, they don't schedule FCS schools to pad the resume.

#3 Michigan @ #35 Maryland - Unlikely that the Terps have anything for the Woverines, but every so often their offense explodes. If that happens, this could be a danger game for UM as they are not really built for big comebacks or rapid scoring.

#6 Michigan State @ #4 Ohio State - I think the Vegas line is crazy here...maybe. MSU has the worst pass D in the nation and OSU has the best receivers. Kenneth Walker may very well rush for over 200 yards, but that won't be enough to overcome Stroud's bajillion yartds through the air.

#5 Oklahoma State @ #38 Texas Tech - TT is up and down again, but I expect OkState to want to make a solid statement going into Bedlam.

#62 Nebraska @ #7 Wisconsin - Wisky has been playing such good football lately that I can't see Frost and Co pulling off the upset, especially in Camp Randall.

#41 Illinois @ #8 Iowa - Not sure it matters which Illinois shows up here; the Hawkeyes are crushing it on D right now.

#22 Iowa State @ #9 Oklahoma - Well, will the Cyclones play up to OU or down to their 6-4 write this season off potential? How will OU respond to being absolutely handled last weekend?

#10 Wake Forest @ #30 Clemson - Clemson is favored by 4. Dabo rage quit the coaches' poll. D.J. Uiagalelei should transfer to a coach who can develop NFL talent.

#11 Baylor @ #18 Kansas State - The Wildcats are favored by 1. Will Baylor have an OU hangover? This has been a really odd season.

#113 Vanderbilt @ #12 Ole Miss - I know, there's no way to control scheduling in conference. Ole Miss and Kiffin get a free pass this week. Has Lane found his true home?

#21 Arkansas @ #13 Alabama - Bama might be better than I think they are, and Arkansas isn't as good as some folks think. Tide in a big win here.

#72 Northwestern @ #14 Purdue - Trust the committee to ignore the work Purdue has put in this season. It doesn't fit the narrative that ESPN wants to sell that the SEC is the end-all be-all conference. Unfortunately, Fitzy is having an off year.

#15 BYU @ #124 Georgia Southern - Now, this isn't an FCS school, but I think we all know that GA Southern isn't exactly a solid P5 program. Shame on you, BYU.

#16 Oregon @ #28 Utah - How is Utah favored? And by 3.5? While the Ducks are definitely not #3, Utah has been mediocre at best this season.

#42 Rutgers @ #17 Penn State - Franklin will be OK. PSU will be OK. Schiano probably doesn't have anything for the Nittany Lions.

FCS Prairie View A&M @ #19 Texas A&M - Prairie View? Call pa and ma to the barn, Mary Ellen! Laura's done it again!

#49 SMU @ #20 Cincinnati - Could this be the game that finally pushes the committee to acknowledge UC? Dunno, but this could be a barn burner!

FCS Tennessee State @ #23 Mississippi State - Oh look, another FCS school.

#59 Syracuse @ #24 NC State - Kind of a meh game for me, but this could be important for bowl invites for the Wolfpack.

#25 Virginia @ #26 Pitt - Nothing here keeps Pitt out of the conference championship game. This game matters more to the teams that both teams have already played.

My top non-top 25 game:

#57 Florida State @ #61 Boston College - Yeah, not exactly a compelling game. My interest is in 2 programs that showed promise pre-season and flashes of good stuff but never fully arrived.

Have a great weekend!
